Breast exams take approximately 45 minutes. Other exam times depend on extent of area being imaged.
What to do before your exam:
Avoid a hot or cold shower at least 4 hours prior to exam
Do not use lotions, powders or hormone creams on your breasts on the day of the exam
Avoid application of deodorant or antiperspirant (even crystal deodorant)
Avoid coffee or tea (no caffeine), hot or cold for 4 hours before exam
Do not shave on the day of the exam to avoid skin abrasions
No physical stimulation or treatment of the breasts, chest, neck, or back for 24 hours prior to the examination (no chiropractic, acupuncture, physical therapy, electrical muscle stimulation, ultrasound, massage, or ice or heat use)
Avoid sun exposure for extended periods of time the day before and on the day of the exam -- no sunburns
No heated seats on the way to exam, or hot or ice cold liquids
Please provide a list of medications either prior to or at the time of the exam
Notify the technician if you are taking Beta Blockers
Do not plan a heavy workout the day of the exam
Do not smoke for 4 hours before exam
Notify us if you have a current skin lesion, rash or injury to the breast
Please wear your hair off the neck and remove jewelry
During your breast exam:
You will need to disrobe from the waist up and acclimate to room temperature for 15 minutes prior to your scan.

Dr. Robert Kane brings over 25 years of experience in the field of thermal image interpretation. Results and interpretation take about two weeks.
(Rush orders are taken at an additional fee of $100 and will take 3-5 business days).
* Dr. Kane is an independent contractor for the purpose of Thermography interpretation only. Dr. Kane is not an owner, employee, or agent of BodyTherms, and does not oversee my operations.
We utilize the top of the line digital infrared camera (by Flir model T300, Calibrated 11/2020, accurate to .05C) to see and record a "heat map" picture of the body and provide a color code and actual temperature data to show the temperature ranges.
We are in full compliance with HIPAA, keeping all records confidential. You will receive an emailed copy of your report including the images. A copy can be sent to your doctor upon your written request on the intake form.
